Welsh dental subscription service partner with Keep Wales Tidy
Brushbox provides eco-friendly bamboo toothbrushes on subscription with the aim of tackling plastic waste on landfill and in our oceans.
This Cardiff-based start-up, has partnered with Keep Wales Tidy in support of the charity’s campaign to reduce plastic waste and litter in Wales.
The company provides 100% biodegradable and recyclable toothbrushes on subscription, with the twofold aim of making oral healthcare easier to manage and reducing the build-up of plastic on landfill and in our oceans.
Since its launch in 2018, the company has delivered thousands of boxes across the UK. It provides eco-friendly, Vegan and cruelty-free bamboo toothbrushes as part of an oral health subscription service with aims to make oral hygiene more sustainable.
Founder and CEO, Mike Donovan, is committed to improving the oral health of the UK through providing toothbrushes on subscription. It is the UK’s first sustainable subscription service, delivering 100% recyclable and biodegradable toothbrushes. One of its key aims is to combat the estimated 3.6 billion plastic toothbrushes that end up in landfill or our oceans each year.
“The awareness around the damage that plastics are having in our seas and environment means that there is an ever-growing population of consumers who are crying out for eco-friendly and sustainable alternatives to the status quo and it’s important that this is done well”, says Mike.
Keep Wales Tidy has been committed to protecting the Welsh environment since 1972. It has set up numerous initiatives that encourage collaboration with the charity, including the Blue Flag Award, Eco-Schools projects, the Green Flag Award and the Green Key Award.
In 2017, Keep Wales Tidy established the Spring Clean Cymru project, an annual litter-picking campaign which aims to improve the environment closest to our homes.
The company runs a ‘Buy One, Give One, Plant One’ scheme, running partnerships with Dentaid and Eden Reforestation Projects. Their partnership with Dentaid means that for every toothbrush sold, one is given to a child in need, while the partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects means that for every toothbrush sold, a tree is planted.
The partnership between Brushbox and Keep Wales Tidy means that the two organisations will support one another’s aims, sharing like-minded activists in order to further both organisations’ ecological and charitable aims.
