
Geoff Craig is a Past President of the British Association for Forensic Odontology and the British Society for Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology.
He has practised as a Forensic Odontologist for over 40 years and has been a Forensic Dental Adviser to the Home Office throughout this time. His experience extends to well over 600 individual cases of dental identification including more recently the victims of the GNER rail crash at Great Heck near Selby.
He also enjoys an international reputation in the specialist area of bite mark investigation having reported on more than 500 cases; he appeared as a key expert witness for the prosecution in the celebrated trial of Regina v- Woodgate and Bowyer et al.
He has also investigated & reported on many suspected bite marks in cases of child physical abuse where he has given evidence in both civil & criminal proceedings.
He is in demand as a lecturer on the subject both in the UK and overseas. He recently supervised a GDP colleague who completed a part-time PhD focusing on the extent to which human bite marks can be regarded as individual to the biter.
