Regional Groups

BSDHT has thirteen regional groups all of which run a minimum of two scientific meetings a year - click on the map for details about your particular area.  Each meeting is planned to ensure that they meet the requirements of the General Dental Council's lifelong learning scheme.

A 'Certificate of Attendance' is issued by BSDHT indicating the high standard of scientific content in the programme and these can be kept as evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).

These regional groups provide members with an opportunity for networking as well as learning within a defined geographical area - click on the map to find out details for any particular area in the UK.

Lucy Elsey is the BSDHT Regional Group Co-Coordinator.

She is an enthusiastic dental hygienist and therapist, qualifying from Kings College Hospital, London in 2011. Lucy undertook the Therapist Vocational Training Scheme shortly after qualifying to enhance her skills and found a passion and interest in Special Care Dentistry. Since then she has worked in mixed practices in her home town of Northampton, Oxford hospitals and Birmingham community. Four years later Lucy works in two practices carrying out her full remit as a Hygienist and Therapist and is completing a qualification in Mentoring and Education.

In that time Lucy has always been a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy, taking a more active role in 2014 as Midlands Regional Group Treasurer. Since taking on this role, she has become a very active member showing her enthusiasm and motivation for the profession and regional group.

In late 2015, Lucy was appointed as BSDHT Regional Group Co-Coordinator and feels very excited about this opportunity and working closely with the Regional Groups. She feels that this positon is a great opportunity to continue to push the profession forward and get the message of what Dental Hygienists and Therapists can do.
