Andrew Gould

Andrew Gould qualified at King’s College London in 1988. He is a clinical teacher in paediatric dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral and Craniofacial Sciences, King’s College London, and runs The Dental Channel. He has always had a particular interest in the application of information technology for enhancing education.

Following a few years working in mixed general practice, in 1991, Andrew left to work part-time in paediatric dentistry at King’s College London and to develop interactive computer-based media. He gained much experience in IT projects outside of dentistry.

In 1998 Andrew set up The Dental Channel to provide dentists with computer-based resources that would not only help them with their professional development but also do so in a manner that conventional teaching could not. He has been privileged to work with many different experts in all areas of professional practice, developing a range of titles on CD-ROM on behalf of The Department of Health and since 2006 live online education in the form of ‘webinars’, which are now commonplace.

Andrew also developed an app for BSDHT members that enabled them to create a PDP, log their CPD and record its impact upon practice well before the introduction of “Enhanced CPD”.
