Simone Ruzario

I studied Medical Microbiology at the University of Surrey, thereafter I went to The Royal London, Queen Mary and Westfield and studied Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. I have completed the first year of a distance Maters in Public Health at the University of Manchester. I have a passion for science and that is why I endeavour to utilise my microbiology following my qualification as a dental hygienist. Following qualification, I had the privilege of working as a research dental hygienist, which enhanced my knowledge of best practice and good clinical governance, and enabled me to utilise both microbiology and dental skills.

I am highly enthusiastic and I have been in the dental industry for over twenty years and have been a qualified Dental Hygienist/Dental Therapist for 13 years this year. I am currently the chairperson for BSDHT Thames Valley Regional Group and recently joined the publications committee. I am eager to enhance and develop my scientific skills that will stretch my analytical abilities. I have acquired leadership skills and strategic planning.

Another passion I have apart from dentistry is volunteering. I have been on many dental outreach missions and have coordinated and lead various teams to Zimbabwe.

Simone was elected to the Executive Team at the BSDHT Council Meeting in February 2019.
