Salisbury Hospital Oro-Systemic Health Symposium

Please join us for the inaugural Salisbury Hospital Oro-Systemic Health Symposium to be held on Thursday 3rd March 1 – 4:30 pm.

This FREE and VIRTUAL event is presented in collaboration between Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust and the NIHR with CPD points awarded in accordance with the number of hours attended.

Suitable for those from all medical specialties (primary and secondary care).
The aim of the event is to explore new thinking into the links between poor oral health and the mediation of systemic diseases, and how COVID-19 research sheds light on these connections.

13:40 – The anatomy of COVID-19 and the concept of a direct viral delivery route from the mouth to the lungs via the bloodstream. Graham Lloyd-Jones – Consultant Radiologist, Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.
14:20 – Antiviral effects of commercial mouthwashes against SARS CoV-2? from hypothesis to testing. David Thomas – Professor of Oral & Max-fax Surgery, Advanced Therapies Group, Cardiff University School of Dentistry.
